GUIDED TOUR of THE ROYAL PALACE of CASERTA
   (From 2 up to 2½ hours)
The Caserta Palace, a UNESCO site since 1999, is commonly known as the “Versailles of Naples.”
It was built by Luigi Vanvitelli for Charles Bourbon and was begun in 1752.
The palace is considered to be one of the most sumptuous in Italy with its 1200 rooms packed with beautiful furnishings, frescoes, wall hangings and history.
The park, which covers 120 hectares, is 3 kilometres long and is developed around a big waterfall which is connected to countless monumental fountains.
It has been used many times for shooting films, some episodes of “Star Wars” and “Mission Impossible,” to mention a few.

NOTES FOR VISITORS:

  • ­The museum rules include use of radio guides for groups of more than 6 people
  • Due to the size of the park it is advisable to use an internal mini bus to reach the English garden; an alternative is to hire a bike or a carriage.
  • Entrance tickets are not included

Sunglasses, sunhat, sun protection cream, comfortable shoes, water, camera, photocopy of ID / passport for 12 - ­25 age group.
