Paestum

Duration From 2 to up to 2 ½ hours

Tour Description

DISCOVERING MAGNA GRECIA: PAESTUM
Paestum is of Greek origin. Originally known as Poseidonia, its current name comes from Roman times and the site is the symbol of Magna Grecia in Campania.
The archaeological site of Paestum, with its 120 hectares, has been a UNESCO site since 1997.
You will be captivated by the peaceful atmosphere, away from the commotion of the other well-known sites.
Here the Greek and Roman towns merge, incorporating Greek temples - which are the precious archaeological pearls of Italy - and a Roman amphitheatre.
The visit ends with the annexed museum founded in 1952, which houses lots of precious relics, the most notable being the famous “diver’s tomb.”

  • The 2-2 ½ hour visit can be combined on request with a visit to Salerno, in which case it becomes a full day tour.
  • Entrance fees are not included in the tour price

PAESTUM FULL DAY
   (7-8 hours)
For a full day excursion we recommend combining a tour of the site (excavations and museum) with a farm visit, when you can taste the local specialities made with buffalo milk, the queen of which is mozzarella.

  • Besides tasting the local produce, on request you can have lunch on site.
